MPG Narratives Began on Hupbages in 2010

I STARTED WRITING ON HUBPAGES IN EARLY 2010.

People have been visiting this hub since January 2010 when I started writing regularly about various topics including: books, book club, walking, pets, travel and heaps more.

I will have information regarding Autism and some personal insights into how relationships are affected by this condition.

Something I've been following closely is the Climate Change forum. I feel strongly that we should all do our bit to help our planet. Imagine letting things go around your home and never looking after anything; no cleaning, no washing, no tidying - your home would be a shambles and certainly not a pleasant place to live in.

Well this should apply to our planet also. We need to look after our environment to keep it from becoming an irreversible mess and eventually being destroyed. Climate Change is a serious issue which affects every one of us and its time politicians stopped talking so much and started doing something serious about cutting emissions. It will cost but is there an alternative? If there is, then let us hear about it. The cost will be higher if our weather keeps changing as dramatically as it has.

We all need to completely change the way we live; stop guzzling so much petrol, recycle as much as we can, limit the use of air conditioners/heaters and generally go back to basics when it comes to cleaning products and household chores. Ever heard of a broom instead of a vacuum cleaner or a hose?

Keep reading and keep interacting with MPG Narratives.

Looking forward to 2010 and a great new year!

UPDATE - On 25th November 2010 it was 1 year that I joined Hubpages, what an incredible year of writing, learning and meeting fellow hubbers. Thanks to everyone who follows and comments, thanks for all the excellent hubbers who have given me advice and thanks to Hubpages staff who nominated one of my hubs for a hubnugget, which I won! MPG Narratives

MPG is starting to blog soon (I'll be blogging regularly in 2010). Learn more about Autism Spectrum Australia by reading my blogs which will be about writing, reading, walking, climate change and environmental issues. Basically I will write about things that interest me.

Why Autism Spectrum Australia?

Most people think of Autism as the unusual, super 'smart' guy in the movie "Rainman" (played brilliantly by Dustin Hoffman in my opinion). However, Autism comes in many forms which will be discussed in various blogs on this site.

Autism is a condition which can make communicating quite difficult for sufferers. This is a very simplistic statement as the condition comes under the word "Spectrum" because sufferers symptoms vary greatly. As a communicator I cannot comprehend what it is like to suffer such a condition but somehow I see it as having a claustrophobic mind - all closed in an no where to go. Again, a simplistic statement.

So, as a communicator I have an interest in this subject and wish to raise awareness of the condition and how it affects sufferers, their families and friends*. I know of three people who are sufferers so I see how relationships differ when dealing with someone who has Autism and I am keen to learn more about how I am able to improve my communications skills and achieve a greater understanding in my relationships with Autism sufferers.

*Friends - this is an area where sufferers find difficulty. How do you make friends when you are not able to communicate? Again, this will be discussed further on later blogs.

'TIS THE SILLY SEASON

Well it's December 2009 which means Christmas has been well underway (since October in the shops). It also means Summer here in Australia and the long school holidays.

Wishing everyone a happy silly season and safe holidays. For us Aussies 'safe' means staying out of the midday sun and watching out for sharks at the beach but whatever Christmas is to you enjoy it, and may you all be able to communicate your love to each other just that little bit extra at this time of year (in other words, watch the stress, don't fall for all the consumerism and hype, oh, and don't 'max out' the credit card!).

Merry Christmas and Happy 2010.

UPDATE: MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY 2011.

Hi MPG Narratives!

Like you I'm a newbie here at HubPages. Still feeling my way around. Sampling hubs, trying to create a process (yes, I'm a total strategic planning, listmaking, plug-in writing format creator.).

Your first hub seems alot like a blog to me. -- A hi, how are you. It's folksy and informative. The subject is really: Getting to Know Me. And the other informative stuff (about autism for example) is there to help the Reader understand the Subject:You.

Am I in the ballpark? Your first Hub is like what you'd put in a profile, maybe?

I enjoyed reading your stuff and gave it a thumbs up.

Thanks for sharing,

HubCrafter

Thanks HubCrafter,

You are right on the button. My first hub is just a blog as I'm not really starting until 2010, too busy at this time of the year (Christmas)! Appreciate your feedback.
